PHOENIX (April 18, 2023) -- Helping to connect community members with behavioral health services, Maricopa County and the Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County will host a Behavioral Health Expo on May 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Central Phoenix.  

The expo is designed to bridge the gap that exists between those in need of services in the community, and the variety of service providers across the Valley. Sponsored by Valleywise Behavioral Health, the expo is a free event that will feature displays and information from diverse community partners and featured speakers on topics like the 988 mental health crisis hotline and MercyCare support. 

The event, which will include free food and door prizes including a television, will be held at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 1401 E. Jefferson Street in Phoenix. More than 30 community organizations will be represented. 

Featured speakers will include: 

  • Stand Together and Recover is an organization operated by peers who have faced mental health, behavioral health and/or substance use challenges.
  • Arizona Center for Disability Law is dedicated to protecting the rights of individuals with disabilities through information, outreach and training.  
  • AHCCCS 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, offers 24/7 support for those experiencing a suicidal, substance use, and/or a mental health crisis.
  • Arizona Crisis Intervention Team Association provides Crisis Intervention Training programs dedicated to training police officers.
  • Maricopa County agencies will present a panel discussion, including the Public Fiduciary’s Office, Maricopa County Attorney’s Office and Office of Public Advocate, to facilitate conversation regarding mental health in the justice system.
