Remote Interpreting Program (RIP)

To provide the courts in Maricopa County expedient language access, the CITS office has integrated remote interpretation services as part of a multifaceted coverage system. This remote interpretation is carried out by staff and contract interpreters who also provide in-person interpretation for our courts. With the use of specialized equipment, the trained remote interpreter can connect into the courtroom, view the proceeding, and interpret for the limited English speaker as if they were present in the courtroom. There are currently over 80 courtrooms equipped to receive assistance through this system. These include both Justice Courts and Superior Court divisions.
