Criminal Presiding Judge


Judge Sam Myers, a Phoenix native, graduated from the Univeristy of Arizona College of Law in 1993.

After working for the Maricopa County Superior Court, where he served as a law-trained bailiff for Judge I. Sylvan Brown, Sam joined the Maricopa County Attorney's Office in 1995. While serving as a prosecutor in the felony trial bureau, family violence bureau, and eight years in the homicide bureau, Sam tried nearly 60 felony jury trials. More than 20 of his trials have been murder cases.

He has lectured extensively on various topics involving criminal investigations, criminal trial practice, victim's rights, and professionalism.

Sam has also served on the State Bar Committee on Criminal Practices and Procedures for the last several years, as has been featured nationally on Court TV and ABC News broadcasts.
