Fingerprint Information
Effective August 1, 2014, payment for fingerprint cards in adoption matters only must be in the form of a cashier’s check or money order for $22.00 payable to the Department of Public Safety (DPS). Neither the Clerk nor the Court will accept checks payable to the Clerk of Court for fingerprints on or after August 1, 2014. Any fingerprints submitted with payments to the Clerk of Court on or after August 1, 2014 will be rejected and returned to the submitter. Please note that the payment amount will be reduced from the current fee of $29.00 to $22.00 and that this change is for adoptions matters only.
Submitting Completed Fingerprint Cards for Multiple People
Yes. However, payments must be for the appropriate multiple of $22.00. So if you are sending completed fingerprint cards for two (2) people for processing with DPS, the appropriate payment would be $44.00, or if you are sending completed fingerprint cards for seven (7) people for processing with DPS, the appropriate payment would be $154.00.
Submitting Duplicate Completed Fingerprint Cards
No. In the event that the first fingerprint card is rejected due to low print quality, DPS does not charge an additional processing fee to run a second set of fingerprints.
