Adoption provides children who are in need of a stable, loving home with the opportunity to grow up in a nurturing environment. Juvenile Court works closely with attorneys, Department of Child Safety (DCS), adoption agencies, private petitioners, and Court Administration to ensure the best possible experience for families through the adoption finalization.

Any adult resident of this state, whether married, unmarried or legally separated is eligible to qualify to adopt children. The adoption of a child who is a member of a Native American Tribe or eligible for membership in a Native American Tribe is governed by the Indian Child Welfare Act.
