Her Judicial Career Impacted Many Across Several Court Departments
PHOENIX (November 4, 2023) - Serving on the Bench since 2008, Commissioner Christine Mulleneaux retired on October 31.
During her career as a judicial officer, Commissioner Mulleneaux served in the Criminal, Juvenile, Family and Civil Departments and, most recently, as a special assignment commissioner.
“Commissioner Mulleneaux has a phenomenal work ethic and modeled calendar management wherever she was assigned. Whether working in Initial Appearance Court or presiding over a civil jury trial, she made a difference in the lives of the people who appeared before her,” Presiding Judge Jospeh Welty said.
Before joining the Court, Commissioner Mulleneaux served as an assistant attorney general and as a deputy county attorney in Pinal and La Paz Counties. She also spent 10 years in private practice litigating criminal and civil cases. As an attorney, she also worked extensively in juvenile law.
Her expertise in juvenile law carried over to the Juvenile Department where she made a positive impact on many youths and their families.
“On her delinquency calendar, she spoke to children directly and with respect. She masterfully walked that fine line of setting firm expectations while conveying that she cared about each child,” Judge Welty said. “We are a better court for her service.”
Commissioner Mulleneaux is a graduate of Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Michigan. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Westen Michigan University. She is a native of Brighton, Michigan and moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1996.
“I am honored to have had the opportunity to serve our community,” Commissioner Christine Mulleneaux said.
