Commissioner Phemonia Miller Announces Retirement After 20 Years of Service

RetirementsCommissioner Phemonia Miller announces her decision to retire after two decades of dedicated service on the bench. Currently serving on a Family Court Calendar, Commissioner Miller has also presided over Criminal, Probate and Civil calendars during her distinguished career at the Maricopa County Superior Court.
“This chapter of my professional life has truly been one of the best, and it has been a privilege to serve the people of Maricopa County,” said Commissioner Miller. “My time here has been gratifying, challenging, and enriching. While I look forward to the next chapter of my life, I am deeply grateful for the opportunities I have had while serving as a Maricopa County Superior Court Commissioner. I carry many fond memories of my time here and will miss working with my wonderful colleagues and staff.”
Before joining the bench, Commissioner Miller’s legal career included her work at the Maricopa County Office of the Legal Defender and her role as an Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Attorney General. In addition, she served as a Public Defender for the City of Tucson Public Defender’s Office. She also gained early experience as an associate at the Law Office of Larry S. Rosenthal.
Commissioner Miller earned her Juris Doctorate in 1990 from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Southern University.
