When you receive your summons in the mail, you must respond to let the Jury Department know if you intend to appear on your scheduled date, need to postpone for another date, or request to be excused from jury service. Remember, just because you've been summoned, you may not be selected to serve.
You may receive a text or an email asking you to respond to a Case-Specific Questionnaire. This is not spam. This is a new process that allows jurors to respond to questions while still at home and potentially be excused without having to come into the courthouse. Just click the link, answer the questions and submit.
Please provide proof of new residence i.e., Drivers License. If you are only in Maricopa County part time, you can request a postponement of 60 or 90 days when you return to Maricopa County.

It depends on the panel that you are randomly assigned to on your day of service. The average trial lasts for 3 to 5 days. You will be able to discuss your time availability with the judicial officer during jury selection.

Residents of Maricopa County have been targeted in jury duty scam. Citizens are contacted via phone by a person identifying themselves as a member of law enforcement or a Jury Office representative. The caller informs citizens that a warrant has been issued for their arrest because they failed to report to jury service. The caller then states that the warrant can be resolved if the citizen pays a fine by sending cash or a prepaid debit card. This is a scam.
If you feel you are being targeted for this scam, write down the phone number the person is calling from and hang up. DO NOT give the caller any personal information about yourself or agree to provide any money. Contact your local police department and request to file a complaint.
