Reentry Services Division
The Reentry Services Division consists of various units that assist in the reintegration of individuals back into the community. The Community Reintegration Unit (CRU) consists of officers who supervise individuals who have been sentenced to a term of incarceration in the Maricopa County Jail. CRU Probation Officers assist in transitioning these probationers to their assigned field Probation Officer. The Work Furlough Program gives probationers the opportunity for supervised release into the community through employment. By allowing eligible probationers to maintain or obtain employment while incarcerated, they are able to more easily transition back into the community once they have completed their jail term. The Prison Reentry Units supervise individuals who are serving a term of probation after having served an extended period of incarceration in the Arizona Department of Corrections. Another population the Reentry Services Division supports is the Seriously Mentally Ill (SMI). The Adult Probation Department also maintains a transitional living program at the Garfield Probation Service Center. The Garfield Program provides a safe housing alternative for probationers in need of stable housing.
