If the proceeding was electronically recorded, you may obtain a copy of the audio/video recording at no charge. Confirm that the hearing was digitally recorded in lieu of a court reporter. You must contact an authorized transcriber to create an official transcript of the recording according to Arizona Supreme Court Rule 30. The transcriber will request a copy of the recording for the hearing directly from the court.

According to Arizona Supreme Court Rule 30, an authorized transcriber is contracted with an Arizona Court to provide transcription services. The court offers an alphabetical list of court approved transcription vendors as a convenience. You may contact any of the vendors below contracted with the Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County, but the court cannot recommend any specific vendor, and you will need to negotiate a cost per page with the vendor on your own. The court contract does not obligate the vendors to charge a specific amount for private requests.

Instructions for Authorized/Certified Arizona Transcribers

All Arizona certified transcribers will need to be added to the For The Record (FTR) Digital Recording Vault to receive downloadable audio files. 

To set up a transcriber account with the Maricopa County Superior Court contact CTSTechnicalSupport@jbazmc.maricopa.gov  
 
Once an account has been created and setup, you can submit a request on behalf of your client from the Digital Recording Vault (DRV) Here https://app.fortherecord.com  

You must upload a copy of the Transcript or a document confirming the completion of the transcript (filing receipt) to Maricopa County Superior Court using the Digital Recording Vault to complete the process.

You may also submit audio requests without downloadable files at https://app.fortherecord.com/ without having to set up a Transcriber Account.

Q: Is there a way to provide minute entries in the new portal?  
A: You can upload a minute entry or other relevant documents during the order process on the Express Access online tool.  
  
Q: Are Court of Appeals case numbers available in the Express Access online tool?   
A: No, the case numbers must be obtained through other means. Ex. The client, or from the Court of Appeals website. Court of Appeals  

Q: Will I still need to email the Electronic Recording Services (ERS) team?  
A: No, all communications will go through the Express Access portal.   

Q: Who owns the transcript?   
A: The Judicial Branch owns the transcript.

Q: Can I work with the public outside of the Express Access portal?  
A: Yes. Only Transcription Services, the Judicial Branch and Maricopa County will use the portal to select for Transcription services.

Q: How are the transcription companies selected?  
A: All Arizona licensed transcription companies are listed on the superiorcourt.gov website or the internet for selection.

Q: Will I order audio recordings and transcripts through the same Express Access online tool?  
A:  Yes. This is required.

Q: Private pay orders, how will they be handled?  
A: The requestor will reach out to the transcription firm and pay them directly.

Q: Who do I contact with invoicing questions?  
A: Accounts payable office for the Judicial Branch is JudicialAPInvoices@jbazmc.maricopa.gov. For Maricopa County, you should reach out to the Procurement Officers Andrew.Stupka@maricopa.gov.

Q: Will copies go to Turbo Court as well?  
A: Yes. You will continue to submit to the appropriate processes. Court of Appeals and PCR, these processes remain the same.
