Superior Court Process for Handling Petition Challenges through April 11, 2024
- Once a case has been initiated, the Clerk of the Court (COC) notifies Civil Administration via email of the filing.
- The judicial assistant (JA) for the Civil Presiding Judge will notify the assigned Judge of assignment.
- The Assigned Judge will issue the order to appear (OTA).
- Filing party may email CivilEmergencies@jbazmc.maricopa.gov for information regarding judicial assignment.
Superior Court Process for Handling Petition Challenges filed on April 12 and 15th, 2024
- Once a case has been initiated, COC notifies Civil Administration via email.
- COC will provide the filing party with instructions for how to request a copy of the OTA via email.
- The Election Judge, Hon. John Blanchard, will issue an OTA, including the Assigned Judge’s Court Connect information (tiny URL and conference phone/ID), exhibit instructions, a status conference date, and a trial date.
- The Election Judge JA will email the OTA to the filing party for service.
- The Election Judge JA will email the Assigned Judge the petition and a copy of the OTA.
NOTE: Election challenges may NOT be e-filed. See Arizona Supreme Court Administrative Order No. 2021-30.
