Maricopa County's Smart Justice Program is designed to help justice-involved individuals find employment and pursue rewarding career opportunities. Smart Justice provides apprenticeships, coaching on workforce readiness, computer access, customized resume assistance, interview techniques on addressing background, job leads and community resources, occupational skills training, one-on-one career guidance, paid work experience, and skills development workshops.

The Frank X. Gordon Education Program helps people on probation reach their education and career goals. New students can sign up any time during the year, and each student must be at least 16 years old with a valid U.S. state-issued ID. The program is open to everyone in the community, not just those on probation. At the FXG Education Centers, students can prepare for and take the GED test, build thinking and problem-solving skills, learn how to get ready for a job and plan a career, and understand money management and budgeting.
