This internship offers a diverse range of experiences designed to provide meaningful exposure to various facets of the Juvenile Probation Department:
Interns have the opportunity to support detained youth through supervised programming and tutoring. They may also shadow Juvenile Detention Officers to gain insight into daily operations within secure care.
Interns can work with or shadow different units across the Probation Department, gaining a broad understanding of Probation services and youth supervision.
Interns contribute to key projects such as creating visual aids, generating and tracking data, research assistance, engaging with stakeholders, and supporting overall project management efforts.
Interns provide direct support with this online learning platform designed to address unmet criminogenic needs for justice-involved youth. Responsibilities include reviewing youth stories and providing strength-based responses, developing Growth Plans, tracking data, and more.
Interns help to maintain the onsite resource closets that provide Probation/Detention youth and their families with essential items such as clothing, toiletries, and other necessities.
Administrative interns work in a variety of environments including Journey.do, resource lobby, and the Hope Closet.
